This year’s expo, while still good, was significantly worse than last year’s. May as well not beat around the bush; the number one thing worse was the hygiene of this year’s expo goers.

Soon after I texted my friends about how putrid some of the stenches emanating from some of the people at the expo were, as if by a karma, the most foul-smelling person I’ve ever smelt in my entire life walked by me. It was only a 2-second encounter. He simply walked by me. However, that was enough. I immediately started retching before my nose could even register the fetid stench of that man. You know how you can see an airplane before you can hear it? It was like that, but with smell. So my body reacted to the odor before the smell itself could even register in my olfactory system. I genuinely almost vomited. I have changed some truly disastrous diapers during my time as a teaching assistant, but nothing could have prepared me for this. It can genuinely only be compared to being sprayed by a skunk.

However, there was a huge upside to this year’s expo! I was able to discover the amazing work of Keitai Archive. They were able to preserve so many Japanese phone games that were thought to be lost forever. They even found a demo for a game I had been seeking for 2 years! They are doing great work and I honestly cannot praise them highly enough. Check out their website. Join their Discord. You will not regret it.
